A strip of 16,000 modules along the Hamburg–Cuxhaven railway: the first park Chint Solar completed in Germany.
Hechthausen is the first solar park Chint Solar brought onto the grid in Germany: 10 MWp and more than 16,000 modules across around eight hectares, between Bornberg and Hechthausen in the district of Cuxhaven.
The shape of the plant tells its story. Under German renewables law the site is 'privileged' because it lies within the 200-metre corridor alongside the double-track Hamburg–Cuxhaven railway: hence the narrow, elongated geometry of the field, which follows the line of the tracks.
The plant was developed and built together with NewDev Management, produces around 950 kWh per installed kWp per year and covers the consumption of some 3,500 households. It was opened on 31 August 2024 with more than 120 visitors.
